Lilli in Australia

Yes, you’re right: this is the homepage of Lilian in the land of Kangaroos, Koalas and the lot! Rather than telling you all the long stories about what happened since I arrived in Australia, I use this site as a platform to publish all the heaps of photos I took during my stay. It’s an easy way to show them to all of you. Just click yourself through the page to be up to date with “Lil in OZ” :-) …(more under post “G’day mate!”)

Airlie Beach - Kroombit Cattle Station (QLD Trip)

Up early this morning of April 13 we travel to Sarina, a small sugar township where we try our hand at "barefoot bowling"; lawn bowls Aussie style. That is with these big balls which don't roll in a straight way but drift to the left or the right.

Despite being a discipline of the Commonwealth Games the "athletes" however are aged +60...

Leaving the coast and thus the highway we head inland, travelling on nothing more than a dusty bumpy road through "beef country" to Kroombit Cattle Station, one of Queensland's oldest "ranches" ... and of course in the middle of nowhere. Here we taste after our arrival a traditional camp oven dinner,

have a whip cracking lesson and the opportunity to ride a mechanical bull. You believe it or not: I wasn't doing bad up there!!!

Before going to bed

we enjoyed some games (here with winning JB: picking up a piece of paper box with only your mouth and nothing else than your feet touching the floor - therefore the interesting position...)

accompanied by some drinks from the below bar:
